Horizontal vs. vertical test machines
Horizontal test machines or benches are used for many applications. Horizontal test machines usually have one test axis, a large cylinder stroke and are perfect to perform tests on large scale parts (cables for example).
For specials purposes, vertical test machines can be used. They are usually suited for small nominal forces and when a small stroke is required.
Force up to 1000 t. (10.000 kN) - Clamping length up to 20 m - Stroke up to 6 m
With its modular system, DYNA-MESS can offer a lot of different versions of its machines.
The nominal force of the machine can be several tons (100 kN, 250 kN, ...) up to more than hundred tons (2500 kN, 3000 kN, 3500 kN, 6000 kN). Some special machines can even reach a nominal force of 1000 t. (10.000 kN).
The machine can be delivered with a clamping length up to 20m (and even more!) and a stroke up to 6m.
The clamping length and the stroke are always adapted to the product to be tested and to the customer needs.
Hight quality machine design
For more than 25 years, DYNA-MESS offers a robust machine design with a self supporting test frame filled with a special polymer concrete. With that, DYNA-MESS machines have a super high rigidity and good damping properties.
Type of tests
Here are some test examples that can be performed with a horizontal test machine:
- Tensile strength
- Stretching
- Elasticity modulus (Young's modulus)
- ...
Some specifics measurable variables can also be added on request as torsion loading.
For dynamic tests, the performances of the part are investigated with a cyclic load. The part is usually tested until failure occurs.
Stretching machine
In addition to tensile tests, the machines can also be used to stretch the parts as part of the production process. This is possible with the easy-to-use DYNA-MESS software that can be configured for a wide range of applications.
