Osteosynthesis / Traumatology

A wide variety of mechanical tests on osteosynthesis components can be performed with DYNA-MESS servo-pneumatic TP 5kN RF and TP 10kN testing machines.

 

Bone plates

ASTM F 382-99

Ermüdungsprüfung an Osteosynthese Schiene ASTM F 3824-points bending test on bone plates.

To perform this test, the bone plate is mounted on a special board.

Arthroplasty

A wide variety of mechanical tests can be performed on endoprostheses with DYNA-MESS servo-pneumatic testing machines. For those tests, the TP 5kN HF and the TP 10kN HF machines are used.

The fatigue tests on the hip shaft as well as combined traction/torsion tests are performed with ball sockets.

The DYNA-MESS software complies with the load value and ensures an adequate temporal relationship between the different loads.

Standard shear tests

For standardized tests where the load needs to be applied in angle with the clamped implant, both clamping tools and special adapters are available. In addition, a lot of fixtures and accessories are available which allow to perform a large range of tests (traction, bending, etc.).

Bone cement

Dauerprüfung an Wirbelsäulen Fixateuren ASTM F 1717For dynamic testing of bone cement, standard test specimens are used and subjected to a bending test.

The other types of cement implants (hip joints for example) are subjected to a dynamic load to evaluate the bonding between the implant and the bone.

 

Dental

Ermüdungsprüfung Dental nach DIN EN ISO 14801For fatigue test on dental implants (according to DIN EN ISO 14801), DYNA-MESS testing machine model TP 5kN HF is used.

DYNA-MESS has developed the DYNA-EndoWear- series in close cooperation with universities, renowned users and clinics. Only one machine is required to test hip and knee joint types according to DIN EN ISO 14242-1 (hip) and 14243-3 & 14243-1 (knee).

The machine is electrically powered and does not require compressed air or hydraulic oil. Thanks to our compact design, DYNA-EndoWear requires comparatively little space in the laboratory.

 

DYNA EndoWear 4In addition to the three test stations DYNA-EndoWear always contains a reference station for loaded conditioning without wear influence.

 

All axes are controlled in closed-loop synchronously by our new high-performance multi-channel controller DYNA-CLC. Together with our established Software DYNA-TCC tests according to the norms mentioned above can easily be parametrised and executed.

 

ADYNA EndoWear 5 six axis load cell measures force and torque at each test station. Dynamic loads up to Fx=300 N, FZ=3000 N und MZ=10 Nm are possible.

 

DYNA-EndoWear is currently available in three different configurations:

  • DYNA-EndoWear 3H for Hip only
  • DYNA-EndoWear 3K for Knee only
  • DYNA-EndoWear 3HK for Hip and Knee

 

For tests in medium (e.g. saline), each test station is equipped with a leak detection and can be temperature controlled.

Medical Bone Screw

 

DYNA-MESS has developed a special servo-electric testing machine for testing metallic bone screws according to ASTM F543. 

With a nominal force of 1 kN and a displacement of 300 mm, various test modules can be realised:
